Hey Everyone,
We will be meeting this Thursday at 6:30 pm at the Coleman's (1447 NE Jackson School Rd. Hillsboro) for a Christ in the Passover supper. This week will differ quite a bit from our normal "routine" and we are looking forward to sharing Passover with you all. Here is what we will need for the meal:
For the Elements of the Sedar Plate
- 1 bottle of wine & some grape juice for the older kids and those who wish to do grape juice instead of wine
- parsley
- unleavened bread (pita, matza, or something similar) both to eat as well as 3 pieces for "breaking the bread" & a gf bread as well please
- horseradish
- Charoset (usually a mix of nuts, apples, wine, spices, possibly honey) - the Coleman's will provide applesauce for those with nut allergies.
For the dinner
- Matzo ball soup (with or without chicken) -gf if possible
- salad
- other sides
- dessert
- The Coleman's will provide lamb.
This website provides some interesting ideas for salads, potatoes, and dessert.

We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday for this special meal. As a reminder, we've hired a sitter to help with the younger kids during this meal so that the older kids and adults can focus more on the events of the evening.
We will bring parsley and a salad
ReplyDeleteI've got a box of gf matza (unleavened bread), grape juice, and dessert.
ReplyDeleteI have all the ingredients on hand for unleavened bread and charoset, so I'd like to make those even though that's not what I signed up for last week. Hope that's okay!
ReplyDeleteWe can do the soup and horseradish
